Description David Zeuthen (not reading bugmail) 2008-10-07 03:23:01 UTC
I'm working on a "Connected Server" feature for gvfs/Nautilus. This bug is
about the needed nautilus bits. See

 http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gvfs-list/2008-October/msg00002.html

for details.

proposed patch

This doesn't include any UI rework such as a reworked "Connect to Server" dialog. That's for a later patch in the 2.25 series.

improved patch

Here's a better patch that uses deltas when recomputing the desktop icons for volumes/mounts. The old patch, which brutally removed everything then added it back, caused flicker. Now we compute the deltas and all is good.
Comment 3 Cosimo Cecchi 2011-02-25 21:22:24 UTC
After talking with David we came to the conclusion we are shifting to use bookmarks for remote mounts anyway, so this is not relevant anymore.
Closing as obsolete.
