Description Hannes Erven 2008-10-04 01:42:09 UTC
When viewing big images in full-screen-mode, it would be handy to get visual feedback on the loading progress.

Use case: when traveling, I use a netbook to review the digital camera photos from the day. Since the display space is limited, I need to use full screen mode. Since the cpu is slow and loading an image takes some seconds, it would be nice to see whether eog is working or not.

Even cooler (but I guess much harder to implement) was if eog would pre-load the next image and keep the last one in memory, so switching images back-and-forth wouldn't need to reload the data.

This is against 2.22.3 on gentoo, I skimmed the 2.23 and 2.24 release notes and the bugzilla, but did not find this feature suggestion, so I'm quite confident this won't be a dup.

Sorry, but it's actually a dup. :-)

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
