Description Amnon Aaronsohn 2006-05-05 14:10:46 UTC
Currently, when you are in fullscreen mode and you press a key to move to the
next image, there's no indication that the image is being loaded, until it
replaces the old one. With large images it could take a few seconds.
My suggestion is to add some visual que such as a progress bar pop up while the
next image is being loaded, or any other indication that eog is actually doing
something and not simply ignoring the user's key press.

I think this is a good idea.
Comment 2 Marcus Dapp 2008-07-15 20:18:40 UTC
+1

A simple turning ("loading") mousepointer would be fine as a start.

Alternatively, a small counter in a top corner (left/right) countig down from 3 (or 5) indicating when the next image will be appearing.

Thanks!

PS. Maybe someone can update the Gnome version information?

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
