Description Götz Waschk 2008-10-01 06:05:45 UTC
This is in Mandriva Cooker with evolution 2.24 on gnome 2.24. The folder Drafts is shown as containing 4 unread messages, but it contains 4 deleted messsages that are displayed, even when the "hide deleted messages" menu item is enabled.
Comment 1 Matthew Barnes 2008-10-03 15:47:34 UTC
I can confirm this, even for normal folders. Looks like a refresh issue. If I switch to another folder and switch back the deleted messages are hidden as they should be.
Comment 2 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-10-07 06:10:23 UTC
Gotz, is the just the count or the message list also displays wrong?

Matt, I think I have experienced that a bit like the refresh happen on a F5 or a folder-switch or a double-click on the folder tree. Its nothing to do with this bug. May be find me a pattern and report a new one. I will also try the same.
Comment 3 Götz Waschk 2008-10-07 06:35:11 UTC
There are deleted messages that are displayed although the "hide deleted messages" option is enabled. So the message list is wrong too.
Comment 4 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-10-14 19:02:56 UTC
Is it always? Im unable to reproduce it :( Any steps?
Comment 5 Götz Waschk 2008-10-17 06:04:26 UTC
Yes, they are always displayed in inbox and in the vfolders on inbox
Comment 6 Lupine 2008-10-24 00:17:03 UTC
The count doesn't change, and the messages are viewable with a strikethrough font. Only fix is to click off the folder, and then click back onto it...as stated above, a refresh issue. This is happening on the updated evo 2.24.1 as well.
Comment 7 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-11-18 05:18:43 UTC
I still need to see, how I can reproduce it.
Comment 8 Lupine 2008-11-19 02:08:00 UTC
I experimented around with this a little more, and this is not happening on my personal IMAPs email server, but it...so far...only happening on my GroupWise email server. I was able to delete about 20 test messages from my IMAPs server, and they deleted and disappeared as expected. However, if I delete just one message (or more) from GroupWise, the messages go into strike through mode. So, for me, I would have to say this is a GroupWise connector issue.
Comment 9 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-11-19 06:01:58 UTC
Sankar had fixed for GW.
Comment 10 Lupine 2008-11-19 13:04:30 UTC
Can you tell me where this is documented (mailing list, bug report, blog)? I've just Googled around, searched the http://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list archives and also performed some advanced bug searches but I can't find any other information on this. I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.10/Evolution 2.24.1 and this is still happening. I just want to know what I should be monitoring, so I'll know when to look for a fix. Thanks so much.
Comment 11 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-11-20 04:07:58 UTC
I will find out his patch and push for 2.24.2
Comment 12 Lupine 2008-12-04 13:53:31 UTC
Ubuntu 8.10 just released some patches, one of which was Evolution 2.24.2. After applying that update, this issues has gone away. Thanks.
