will attach a sample. Open it in evince vs acroread. The blue gradient background renders fine in acroread. XPDF suffers the same problem as evince.

is this really a dupe? in 484643, xpdf renders the thing correctly while evince does not. In this bug here, both render incorrectly.

I'm not completely sure, but I'm sure it's a poppler issue. Attach your file as a new testcase to the poppler bug and if it's another issue poppler devs will open a new bug report.

Upstream http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10942 says it's fixed, but it's definitely not completely fixed.
