The rendering of a gradient in a LaTeX beamer generated PDF file is very ugly (see attached screenshot). The rendering with xpdf is fine.

I tried with Evince/poppler versions 0.8.3/0.5.4 and 2.20.0/0.6; the xpdf version is 3.02.
