Description Markus Amalthea Magnuson 2008-08-18 08:23:49 UTC
I find it kind of irritating that the list/icon view setting is per folder in nautilus. If I want to browse a deep folder structure that I have never visited before in list mode (or icon mode) I have to change view mode for each new folder I double-click on, since the all open in the default view mode. I should only have to set this once for the current window, and it should be used for every new folder I open in the same window.

What is the rationale for the current design? I am sure this has been discussed before, and I am happy for any references to such earlier discussions.

Does this mean that no such discussion has taken place previously? If so, then it would definitely be interesting to hear opinions on this from others too.
