Description Arthur Carli 2008-08-15 15:42:28 UTC
As a windows user, i miss the iTunes library importer function. The fact that I'd like this function back, is that I've rated all my songs (about 3000) under iTunes. I'd like to being able to import them easily (with the played count number too) using the banshee importer.
So is the return of this function planned ?

Bringing back the iTunes importer would be a beautiful thing. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents.

Actually, just an idea that may or may not work:

Would it be possible to build the old .13.x banshee, run the old Import Plugin, and replace the banshee.db in banshee-1 with the library database from banshee .13.x?

It's not a very tidy/user-friendly solution, but I think I'm going to give it a shot.

I guess I never gave my results from that last attempt. Since .13.2 is in the Hardy repositories, I installed it and got it to import all of my iTunes info. Unfortunately, upgrading the database for Banshee-1 didn't seem to work out very well, which I reported as a bug (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=549035). If anyone gets this solution (or any others) to work, I'd be interested in hearing what you did.
