Prior versions of nautilus allowed for the icon for a file to be changed. For instance, an iPod would normally have the generic (and ugly) media player icon, but it would be possible to change it to the actual iPod icon corresponding to the specific model.

With 2.21.x this capability no longer exists.

This is fixed now in SVN.
