Description Johannes Rohr 2008-01-17 21:19:00 UTC
I often want to delete downloaded postcast audio files, as they tend to eat up my hard disk space. ATM, when choosing "delete" in the listing, this will also remove the episode from the listing. To me this is not a sensible behaviour. I would like to keep the information that a certain episode is available in case I change my mind and want to listen to it again. ATM, the only way to make it reappear is to unsubscribe from the podcast channel and re-subscribe.

Therefore a "delete downloaded file" in the context menu of a downloaded episode would be helpful. Also a button "clean up downloaded audio files" would be useful in the podcasts view.

ATM, if I want to avoid loosing information I have to physically delete the audio files manually and hand-edit rhythmdb.xml in order to reset the status of the audio episodes to not downloaded. I've done this more than one time and it is not exactly user-friendly.

BTW: may I remind you of bug 364719 ? It would save me a lot of hassles, if rhythmbox would just stream the podcasts episodes instead of downloading and permanently saving the files.

I think this is reported in Bug 436610. And expiration issues are in Bug 331942.
