GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 504515
print does not refresh printer settings
Last modified: 2009-01-11 21:13:27 UTC
This bug has been filled here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/161849 "When evince is closed and another document opened, the printer settings should be taken from the printer setup. Instead, any changes from the last document are remembered - change duplex settings, paper tray, even print only page 2 are carried over. It's nearly impossible to print something straightforwardly" Thanks,
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 488806 ***
Still printer settings "forgotten", e.g. in ubuntu Hardy. When I use [File|Print setup...] to change for example from Letter to A4, evince never remembers it after closing and re-opening. True, I use an English layout (letter seize papers), but only print in A4. As I can change this setting in evince I would expect Evince to remember it. Thanks for looking into that one more time!
I don't believe this bug has been resolved. It is not a duplicate of 488806 which only pertains to the per document printing settings (page range, etc...). Evince still remembers settings like simplex/duplex, resolution, paper type, etc... It's very annoying. I configured default printing settings in *CUPS* for a reason. Why does evince ignore them? Thanks!
