Description Denis Cheremisov 2007-11-20 10:32:37 UTC
I wonder if it can be possible to access 'Places' menu items while drag'n'dropping, as well as dropping files on nautilus path buttons (but the last proposal is lesser :))
Comment 1 Vincent Untz 2009-06-18 15:22:57 UTC
Let's track the places menu part in bug 560543 and move this bug to nautilus for the path bar.
Comment 2 Allan Day 2010-05-28 14:32:45 UTC
Confirming and renaming for clarity.

Thanks for the bug report! :)

Hang on a second! Path bar buttons are already drop targets! Closing as obsolete.
Comment 5 Cosimo Cecchi 2010-05-28 15:00:59 UTC
I think the reporter means something else: when you drag a file over a button in the pathbar, the view should load that directory.
Comment 6 Allan Day 2010-05-28 15:14:35 UTC
Ah right. Apologies for the confusion.

This would enable some advanced operations like drag and drop to a subdirectory of a dir in the pathbar. It would also be consistent with the window switcher behaviour, and we do like consistency.

The only disadvantage that I can see is that it could be disorientating if unexpected, but the chances of that happening are probably pretty low.
Comment 7 Allan Day 2010-06-22 20:14:52 UTC
Changing component as a part of ongoing bug reorganisation work.
Comment 8 António Fernandes 2013-04-19 16:11:44 UTC
This enhancement has already been implemented some months ago and made it into Nautilus 3.8 release: https://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/commit/?id=87bb40d7fa04a56c3ae515dd5340a9656c497a48
