There's unfortunately not enough information here, to tell what's
going on. What were you doing at the time of the crash?
Comment 2 palfrey 2007-10-30 11:35:18 UTC
Possibly a duplicate of the general problem at Bug 346444?
Comment 3 Rich Burridge 2007-10-30 14:10:20 UTC
A calculator bug is a gedit bug? I don't think so.
It's more like bug #354730 or bug #450790.

I don't feel the need to close this, just for closing
sake. Not yet anyway. I'll give the submitter another
month or so.

Of course, if you were attempting humor (I saw the "original
submitter" on bug #346444), then hehehe! ;-)
Comment 4 palfrey 2007-10-30 14:24:43 UTC
Nah, less humour, more "linkers do evil things to *everyone*".

I was looking at comment #44 of bug 346444:

"This is a well known problem we have on FreeBSD.
It is not due to the spell checker plugin itself, but it is probably a
linking problem due to the fact aspell (the library gedit used for the spell
checking) is written in C++.
There is nothing we can do to fix it in gedit, please report this bug to the
FreeBSD GNOME maintainer."

Looked like the same sort of problem was happening in gcalctool as well (probably not with aspell, but with some other module).
Comment 5 Rich Burridge 2007-10-30 15:20:41 UTC
Okay, fair enough. There's no C++ code in gcalctool, and
I'm stumped on what library it might call that contains
C++ code, but it's a possible theory. Thanks.
Comment 6 Rich Burridge 2007-11-02 14:18:40 UTC
Okay, I'm convinced (as I've just received another one).
Looks like the FreeBSD distribution is broken. Closing as
a duplicate of bug #346444. Thanks Tom!
