"When using Totem, occasionally it can't exit from fullscreen mode. The best way I have been able to reproduce this consistently is by using --fullscreen. This also happens when using vmplayer in full screen.

The application tries to exit but flicks back to full screen immediately. I am using fully up to date gutsy install.

How do you reproduce this? Which window manager are you using?
Which version of Totem?

If you run totem from the command line with: "totem something.mpg &" and then you execute in the same terminal totem --fullscreen it toggle the fullscreen which is ok, but if you run totem with "totem --fullscreen something.mpg &" and try to exit the fullscreen by toggling it again with "totem --fullscreen" it get out of the fullscreen mode and then enter again, the same happens if you click on the leave the fullscreen option in the fullscreen window.  I used to reproduce the bug Metacity 2.20 and Totem 2.20, thanks!.

Right, so "totem --fullscreen" on startup doesn't work nicely. I know, I filed a bug about it :)

It gets all confused about its state if you pass --fullscreen to the first instance.
