I see "Can't find gdm socket" in the log but I have no idea why it doesn't find it.

Hello, After some investigations I found that this bug (and others) have already been fixed by some Fedora devs : http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421080 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412541 I applied those patches with success and this bug did not occured any more. Some of the patches are quiet old (gnome 2.17) and I do not understand why they have not yet been applied to fast-user-switch-applet's current branch ? Also the Fedora package has other very interesting patches which should be integrated upstream. Thank you to the devs who gave those patches (whatever they come from Fedora, Gnome or other places ...) I hope it helped ! Cheers, Chicha.

If you say that this was fixed by the fix to bug 421541 (aka bug 408309) then this is a dupe of that bug. The stack would appear to confirm this. Thanks. > Some of the patches are quiet old (gnome 2.17) and I do not understand why they > have not yet been applied to fast-user-switch-applet's current branch ? Because we're all volunteers, and I've been inhumanly busy for the past few months and what time I've been able to spare from work and family and sleep has been spent keeping metacity running. Are you offering to help maintain fusa? > Also the Fedora package has other very interesting patches which should be > integrated upstream. Let us know what you'd like! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 408309 ***
Hello Thomas, I am sorry. I thought the people who where developing fusa were also working on the patch at Fedora. That is why I did not understand why those patches where not included already. I am conscious that you are volunteer, and I thank you a lot for your great work on fusa which make me happy every day ! Could you please have a look to the following enhancement (patch attached) from Fedora people ? http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=530415 Thank you very much ! Cheers, Chicha
