Description pavel 2001-09-10 01:00:46 UTC
Select a few icons in list view, start a drag. Only a single icon will be
displayed in the drag feedback. We should draw outlines or translucent bitmaps
for all the dragged icons.

------- Additional Comments From brett@eazel.com 2001-02-23 12:55:21 ----

I'm seeing the expected feedback now - rectangles for the other dragged icons.

------- Additional Comments From brett@eazel.com 2001-03-02 18:37:59 ----

Please ignore my previous comment. The rectangles appear once the drag is over
icon view or the desktop, but not in list view.

QA Assigning to self.

------- Additional Comments From snickell@stanford.edu 2001-07-23 00:38:33 ----

Taking bugs previously assigned to Pavel, assigning them to myself. Will parse
them out at my leisure , but many are GnomeVFS bugs we should look at for 2.0

------- Additional Comments From mjs@noisehavoc.org 2001-07-23 01:17:07 ----

Move to unassigned. I'll probably want to take a crack at some of these myself,
and Seth says he is unlikely to.

Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.

confirmed in nautilus 2.4
Comment 8 Jorge Castro 2004-02-19 17:13:22 UTC
Some clarification from trying this in Fedora-devel dated today:

The drag feedback displays on the desktop itself, but not inside the
nautilus window. So the multiple-file feedback is not being displayed
until the files are dragged over the desktop itself.

If the user never passes over the desktop, like, from one nautilus
window to another window behind the current one, there is no feedback
shown at all except for the single icon.
Comment 9 Luis Villa 2004-02-24 01:36:40 UTC
Yeah, still there in HEAD.
Comment 10 George Skuse 2005-04-07 00:05:51 UTC
Confirmed: Whiprush's description is still accurate in nautilus 2.8.1
Comment 11 Emmanuel Fleury 2008-11-10 13:24:27 UTC
Confirmed: Still there in 2.25.1.

Comment 14 André Klapper 2021-06-18 15:48:13 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
