Please would someone provide a filter to filter by attachment type. At the moment there is only the facility to filter on whether there is an attachment or not.

Then, could someone provide a small script that a message could be piped to return that message to origin with some custom explanation included.

*Use scenario*
User receives email with '.docx' attachment. User does not wish to have machine infected with '.docx' documents or attachments. User wishes to filter all messages with '.docx' attachements and pipe to small script that returns that message to sender with a user defined explanation, such as:
"Message found to contain viral attachment of type '.docx'; please replace viral attachment with non-viral attachment. Non-viral attacments typically do not contain an 'x' in suffix. Examples include '.doc' and '.odt'."

Thank you.

your use scenario sounds like something that a mail server should do, but not a user agent like evolution.

Yes, of course my ISP's mail server should do this - but it's not going happen, is it!? So, I've got to do it at my end and it would be really helpful to have a facility with which to do it.

i did not talk about your ISP - you can set up a mail server yourself. and again, this is really something that a a mail server should do, not a user agent. probably a WONTFIX.

I will say if the scenario that you mentioned is why you want such a feature, then u should be creating such filters in your SA/Bogofilter rules. And fetching the mime-type of an attachment is not possible for all the providers. WONTFIX IMHO.
