This is a request for the "Print Setup" settings, such as paper size, to be persistent in Evince. This is currently handled different between different GNOME apps, Epiphany for example, does remember the settings between sessions.

The Debian bug (URL above) have a short discussion about this.

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.
