GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 430572
showing uptime
Last modified: 2011-12-12 00:28:35 UTC
Uptime information can be added alongside with Load averages. (startup time, running time)
I have a technical issue with startup time : it changes all the time if you suspend your computer. startup time is like (now - uptime) :/
I would like to have this information in the system-monitor, too. I added an idea how it could look like.

Created attachment 202182 [details] [review] Proposed patch Added the boot time to the System information tab. I have only added the boot time as I haven't found a way using libgtop to get the last wake up from suspend time, and I don't think showing the uptime in hours as it would bring up the following problem: Currently the system information tab only shows system-wide info, which does not change often (hardware, gnome version, OS version). Uptime is different, it changes, so it would be inconsistent to display it there, I think. However, it might be ok to add a new section on the system info with current status values refreshing periodically, where it would be ok to show uptime, and at the same time show load averages, fixing bug 305875 at the same time.
Actually, I don't think this information is really relevant in the always-suspend age that GNOME seems to live in. Leaning toward closing this as WONTFIX if no compelling reasons are brought up.
