GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 422630
no limits for filenames
Last modified: 2008-05-05 23:47:49 UTC
Could be nice to have some kind of ellipsize on filenames shown near icons, leaving the show of full-length filenames to a tooltip. Same problem for the statusbar: if the filename is too long there's no way to see the file-size (or other details) without the file-properties window Other information: In bug 422593 I put my ideas on file-details shown by nautilus in the icon-view. I think this 2 "bugs" could be considered related.
Created attachment 85261 [details] A list of files with huge filenames could make things really difficult It's not easy to move around a directory populated by files with long filenames.
