GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 41789
Support Zoom in Desktop
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
To make zooming work on the desktop, we'd have to deal with how to position icons that no longer fit in the fixed-size desktop area. This would also be required for auto-arranging icons on the desktop. Note that bug 41737 says "disable zoom on desktop", so we have to do either that one or this one. ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2000-07-27 09:17:09 ---- Zooming on the desktop might be neat, but it doesn't seem required. ------- Additional Comments From gzr@eazel.com 2000-08-16 10:21:51 ---- One thing that will break is the fixed size I am using for the desktop layout grid cell. Of course, I can scale this based on the zoom level, but I will mention this for future reference. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2000-10-16 19:33:57 ---- Batch-assigning QA ownership of remaining bugs to eli@eazel.com ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-02-09 11:30:11 ---- Duane is now the proud owner for Desktop QA. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-03-26 11:20:56 ---- SPAAAAAAAAAM! (Jon Allen has taken these components; QA Assigning bugs to him.) ------- Additional Comments From greg@brim.net 2001-04-18 06:30:04 ---- Well, if zooming itself is not supported on the desktop, could there at least be some option for a default size on the icons? The icons are so huge as compared to what I'm used to. My default zoom level in windows is 75%, which seems just about right to me. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:33 ------- Bug depends on bug(s) 41727 42184.

We support this now; we use the default zoom level in the desktop view. I don't think we should support arbitary zooming though.
