GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 41244
Nautilus window size is hard-wired
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The Nautilus window size is hard-wired to 650 x 400 in nautilus_window_constructed. It might be sensible to hard-wire the size, since we don't want the window size to bounce around when switching locations and there's no particular size that's ideal for every location. But at the very least we need to define constants for this. We might also consider only hardwiring the height, if that's possible, or using some mechanism other than constants to choose the hard-wired size. ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2000-07-13 14:51:16 ---- Both the default size and the minimum size are hard-wired and we need to take care of both. ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2000-09-08 16:39:14 ---- Bug 42870 is a particular case where the hardwiring makes it unusable for someone's configuration. ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2000-09-19 10:20:57 ---- I'm implementing smarter initial-window-size logic, so I'm taking this bug. ------- Additional Comments From will@lashell.net 2000-09-24 20:09:38 ---- The fix doesn't appear to work when $DISPLAY'ing across a network. My current viewport resolution was 640x480, and the nautilus window was bigger than my screen. I can provide more information if you need it. ------- Additional Comments From will@lashell.net 2000-09-25 08:32:44 ---- I misunderstood the bug, fixipating this and opening a new bug. The problems indicated here are resolved. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2000-10-16 20:01:48 ---- Batch-assigning QA ownership of remaining bugs to eli@eazel.com ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:33 ------- Bug blocks bug(s) 42870.
