Description William Jon McCann 2007-02-14 14:12:44 UTC
There have been some requests on the mail list to move the art into the "now playing" area. I think they have given some good reasons.

 * ability to automatically show in small mode
 * ability to see art when side pane is hidden
 * more logical connection with "now playing" type info
 * solve the problem where you expand the source list to better view an ellipsized source title and the album art expands to a huge size
 * give more room to see playlists and other sources

Will probably need to add some way to make the art bigger when clicking on it or something...

capture with smaller fonts

This works fine for me, however, maybe because of different font sizes, the thumbnail seems to not be well sized w.r.t the song information text which then lay in an quite empty space. See the attached screen capture.

Also, it seems that the ratio of the thumbnail is fixed, not respecting the cover image native ratio.

I'll try it out. Shouldn't this depend on bug 342207?

Bug 384483?

Bug 363694 has a patch which allows the aspect ratio to change by up to 10% in either direction, after which the thumbnail is padded. Should work here (the patches are incompatible, but not impossible to fix).

Comment 10 William Jon McCann 2008-10-01 20:14:02 UTC
On second thought... I think we probably want to have a "Now Playing" source that would show the album art, information about the track/album/artist, and related artists etc.
