Description Vergil Mueller 2007-02-11 04:55:25 UTC
There should be a way to select a bunch of cells with some data, right click those cells, and have an option to "convert table to tex" and have a little window pop up with code that can easily be copy/pasted into LaTeX.

The reason I think this would be a major improvement is beause right now, you can only export your whole viewport to a .tex file. This makes for some messy copy/pasting if you're just trying to insert a single table into a pre-existing tex file. I am envisioning something very similar to the Calc2LaTeX macro for openoffice calc. You should be able to easily specify a caption, label, and some basic formatting while still in gnumeric, and then have the code automatically generated for pasting directly into LaTeX.

Other information:
This feature would really streamline workflow for users doing calculations in gnumeric, but writing up a report in LaTeX. Not having to use the extra "export to .tex" option from the file menu would be very nice.
