GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 34632
``copy special'' idea
Last modified: 2018-05-22 12:59:40 UTC
Synopsis: ``copy special'' idea
System: SunOS 5.7 sun4u sparc
C compiler: 2.95.2
ORBit: ORBit 0.5.1
gnome-libs: gnome-libs 1.2.0
gnome-core: gnome-core 1.2.0
Gnumeric can save as many data types. It would be nice, though, if I
could copy data to the clipbord in more than one way. For example, I use
LaTeX a lot. If I could do ``copy special'' and have an option of ``copy
as LaTeX'', then I could just paste a table into my Emacs window.

This is a good idea for working with other X applications. We should
do this eventually.
This doesn't answer the real enhacement request, but to use the tables
with latex you may just want to export them as latex2e and \input them
in your latex file. (see the exported file for the packages required)

I'd "copy special" as "plain text" a lot, so I don't have to deal with the corresponding problem at the far end...
