GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 402403
define a category for multiple selected cards
Last modified: 2012-02-26 10:09:20 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed? Hello, its not really a bug I want to report. Its a feature request. It would be better to have a option in the contextmenu when selecting multiple-addresscards to define a category to these selected cards. best regards, Benny I am sorry wrinting the feature request to this list. Perhaps you can give me an advice where to do this the next time. thx Distribution: Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy) Gnome Release: 2.16.1 2006-10-02 (Ubuntu) BugBuddy Version: 2.16.0
hi benjamin, this is the correct place. :-)
Hello, Will this feature be added soon ? I'm a new user of evolution (2 months). I have to create a new category in my address book (this category concerns a newly created association), approximately 50 contacts will be added to this category. I will have to manually check the category checkbox in every contact addresscard ! It isn't really ergonomic...

Warning: my comment doesn't contain any useful information for fixing the bug. I'd like to call this a "usability bug". I was just going to organize my contacts into categories, but when I realized that I'd have to add a category to every contact one by one, I just gave up. Combining this usability problem with the actual bugs that the feature has, I don't think many people are using it in it's current state. I hope it gets better soon, because it's a nice feature to have and parts of it are done very well already. Oh no, I just noticed that this bug was filed nearly four years ago. I'll go and check some other e-mail clients, if organizing contacts is easier in them.
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 217097 ***
