Description Andreas Dalsgaard 2006-12-01 11:51:56 UTC
While working on a study project at aalborg university we encount a bug which prevent us from importing a dia diagram made by 0.95 (on ubuntu edgy) in dia 0.95-1(on windows).

Two diagrams are attached, the original and how it looks after imported in dia 0.95-1, both uncompressed xml.

A note should be that we can import the diagram in dia 0.94 (on windows) but get some errors.

Does not seem to be reported on ubuntu launchpad:

Comment 4 Lars Clausen 2006-12-02 19:35:09 UTC
This is because font rendering on Windows and Linux doesn't yield the same widths, not even necessarily if the same fonts are installed, and very unlikely when using abstract fonts like "sans" that may map to different things. No usable idea for how to fix this yet.
Comment 5 Andreas Dalsgaard 2006-12-03 11:58:36 UTC
Okay, but it seem strange that it looks fine when imported with dia 0.94 on windows... Has the font rendering on windows changed from 0.94 to 0.95?
Comment 6 Hans Breuer 2007-03-17 13:31:35 UTC
Yes, and it also has changed between dia-0.95 and 0.96 under Linux.
See bug #396504
