If you resize a gnome-terminal window and add three tabs, the terminal window unexpectedly resizes itself after a third tab is created.

From the downstream bug:

Actually, it still happens for newly created users with vanilla home
directories.

Yes, but only on subsequent runs of gnome-terminal.

Without touching the default profile the bug remains.
