GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 343463
spc, psf, psf2, & usf support
Last modified: 2006-06-09 20:50:29 UTC
super nintendo - spc audio format playstation - psf playstation 2 - psf2 nintendo 64 - usf Currently you need an entirely seperate audio player to play these files, ("Audacious" - the successor to beep media player will do "spc and psf") ("highly experimental" is a plugin for xmms that will play "psf and psf2" files) ("64th note" will play "usf" files) We should just add support for all of these formats to gstreamer and then any program using the gstreamer engine can play the file formats. I only use amarok. I only want to use amarok. we must keep this music with us. Great memories, great games.
Bug 166750 exists about psf and psf2 files; bug 310645 seems to suggest that gstreamer already has support for spc. Should we just make this bug about usf handling, mark 166750 as a dupe of this one, or something else?
I know I have been told gstreamer supports spc, but only in totem supposedly, which I couldn't get working... and also it had problems. Perhaps it is broken. We can just make this one about spc and usf. both are nintendo systems.
SPC support was never ported to 0.10, reported in: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340846 I don't think it would be a good idea to join support requests for three totally different formats (yes, all them are about console systems, but...) on a single bug report. Since right now there are two separated SPC, and PSF support request I would convert his one to only a usf support request.
If I'm not mistaken we already have bugs open for all of these: SPC - bug #340846 (see above) PSF/PSF2 - bug #166750 (see above) USF - bug #308257 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 308257 ***
