Description Sergej Kotliar 2006-05-30 13:14:01 UTC
Currently, if you drag the Home folder from the panel places menu, it creates a launcher, and not a link. The result of this is that it doesn't get all of the properties of a folder link, like being able to drag and drop stuff into it.

The rationale for this is that some distros (read Ubuntu) doesn't show the Home folder on the desktop by default, and dragging it from Places is much easier than actually going through the gconf procedure to enable them on the desktop the proper way.
