GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 342167
add translator comments to "TTY"
Last modified: 2013-09-14 16:49:44 UTC
TTY is unclear. at least to me. ;-) #: ../addressbook/libebook/e-contact.c:150 msgid "TTY" e-contact.c code: ATTR_TYPE_STR_FIELD (E_CONTACT_PHONE_TELEX, EVC_TEL, "telex", N_("Telex"), FALSE, EVC_X_TELEX, 0), ATTR_TYPE_STR_FIELD (E_CONTACT_PHONE_TTYTDD, EVC_TEL, "tty", N_("TTY"), FALSE, EVC_X_TTYTDD, 0), no idea at all. went to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TTY, and now i guess that this means "Teletypewriter". not sure, though; so this isn't easy to translate. if it is "Teletypewriter", who uses this? it's "largely obsolete" according to wikipedia.
hey andre TTY cant be removed as we may have some ABI issues, what else can be done here.
devashish: huh? see the subject line: "add translator comments", of course. http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments
