Hi. I wantd to know. Can the current menubar applet be made so that it have a "MacOS" mode in which
it swallows the "File Edit View ... " menus from the apps windows and shows them in the applet at the
right of the small foot icon (without the "Applications" label plz) that holds the gnome start menu?

 A screenshot is attached.

Mac-like menubar

This is a screenshot of how the menubar applet's "MacOS" mode should work like.

This is a request that would need to be implemented throughout the entire GNOME desktop, including GTK and probably some apps... so the HIG bug you filed is more than enough for this.
Not sure if there are duplicates of the request, there probably are, but one HIG bug is surely enough.

The HIG bug I filed is marked as duplicate of this one I filed and this is marked as duplicate of the HIG bug I filed. Coincidence? I think no. I'm sure a Microdroid is infiltrated in the highest level of autority of the gnome dev team and is doing this things to avoid making a Mac-like menubar.

No, it's not marked a dupe, please read it again.

I'm reopening this bug as I've closed #342078 ... this issue should not be tracked against the HIG. The HIG is not going to mention Mac-style menus unless they at least become technically feasible.

Why is "technically unfeasible"? IS it because M$ paid you to say that? Is because M$ threatened with "copyright infringement" lawsuits if a Mac-menubar gets implemented? Is some sort of nasty thing from Bill Gates? Or a ploy Steve Ballmer is playing?
I don't know, and I know you won't tell me the truth never and will always lie. But one thing I'm sure. I'm so f*king mad in rage about this type of political/burocratical SHIT that IF I GET A GUN I SWEAR I'M GOING TO F*KIN KILL EVERY SINGLE LIVING THING THAT DWELLS THE BOWELS OF MICRO$OFT.
Comment 7 Sergej Kotliar 2006-08-27 12:46:25 UTC
There is a newer bug about this that has a somewhat working patch, so I'm closing this as a duplicate of that bug.

Someone get Juan his meds, he's tripping again. And ban his account/email/IP for that last threat.
