Description Étienne Bersac 2006-05-08 15:11:03 UTC
Hello,

Desktop contextual menu have an item "Clean Up By Name". As it is grouped with
"Keep Aligned", i thought it was too a check item. I think such feature are
useful if nautilus *always* keep icons sorted by name. (similar to Finder
behavior on Mac OS X on desktop).

I suggest to have a /apps/nautilus/default/use_manual_layout option. If set to
true, behaviour is like the current one. If set to false, then icons are sorted
by name with devices (local, then distant), then folder, then files.

Thank you.

Étienne.

PS: do not think i wish nautilus clones the Finder. I hate the Finder behaviour
as a browser, but i like the possibility to have icons automatically placed.
