Description Christian Neumair 2006-04-19 19:11:01 UTC
The GtkMinefield of gnomine should take the keyboard focus, and allow the user to select the not-yet shown mine fields. Pressing space would then show the currently selected mine field.

Full keyboard navigation is one of those long term goals for all Gnome Games.
Confirming and marking as enhancement.
Patches welcome etc.

(Following on from your proposed keybindings it might be nice to have Ctrl+space flag the mine field. Similarly have Ctrl+left click flag a mine field so users with only one mouse button (or some other pointer device) are not left out.)

See also bug 126284 which covers keyboard shortcuts for Gnome Games in general.

Since this report is asking about full keyboard control not just shortcuts I'll leave it open for now rather than marking it as a duplicate.

Thanks Alan, I knew there was a bug already covering this, but I hadn't had a chance to search for it.

Full keyboard accessibility for all games is a goal, but, in terms of my time, a secondary one (note the dates in bug #126284). Patches are gladly accepted.

Marking this as a duplicate.
