GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 337725
Single-window mode option
Last modified: 2009-02-15 10:27:17 UTC
Single-window mode would be extremely nice. This would force all links that open in a new window to open instead in a new tab in the current window. I suppose that this could be done as an extension (and I'd be willing to work on it in such a case), but IMO this is rather integral to the UI and should be implemented there, especially since the code is already there. :P
Maybe this should be a lockdown option for PCs for shows or kiosks. If ephy is in fullscreen in this cases, it wouldn't be handy to have another window floating around because a website opened a target=_blank.
Is there any other way to achive this functionality? maybe some about:config settings? Thanks
about:config only has an effect on mozilla-specific settings, not on Epiphany specific parts.
As many people as have commented on this on the mailing list, could this target be a bit sooner than 2.20? Or could one of the developers help someone (e.g. me) create an extension, if such would be possible, to force this?
This depends on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326299 so it can only be implemented once that's fixed. The earliest date for that is xulrunner 1.9 which is the target of epiphany 2.20

This is pretty much the only thing that's keeping up the two-month-brower-switch pattern. Ccing myself. :)

Long since abandoned epiphany because of this. Removing from cc.
See bug #571593, I think we could jump to that one since it has a patch and dup this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 571593 ***
