GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 331558
Large space between handle for applet and icons
Last modified: 2007-02-18 00:42:19 UTC
Please describe the problem: There is a large space between the handle of the notification applet and the icons inside it, which is unsightly. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add the notification area to the panel. Actual results: Handle butts right up against first icon in applet. Expected results: Handle is some distance away from icons. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
I thought there was already a bug open for this, but I can't find it. I believe that's an icon that does not give back the space it used...

Original reporter of Bug 334824 and attached screen shot here. Would like to clarify that it isnt just a large space but what looks to be 3 unremovable icon spaces that have been reduced down to the minimun of 1 px. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? I dont know how to get a list of the registered icons/applications running in a notification area. Making them able to be transparent would fix the aesthetic blemish but i dont know why they are there to begin with and would like to know. -mf

Bug 404558 has a nice test case. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 404558 ***
Are you sure that's a duplicate? The other bug is about the new GTK API and that one was opened before it
Yes, because the GTK+ code is based on the egg code :-)
