GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 328724
when shutting down PC while download is still running, you don't get a warning
Last modified: 2006-02-12 00:09:05 UTC
Please describe the problem: I noticed that when I shut down my PC with a download still running, I don't get a warning that my file which is being downloaded will be lost if I shut down. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start a download 2. Shutdown PC 3. Restart Actual results: When shutting down the PC, you will not receive a warning that the download will be lost. When restarting the download is lost. Expected results: When shutting down, give a warning that the download will be lost, or even better, implement resuming like a true download manager so that files can be resumed even after shutting down the PC. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:

After reading #162660 I understand that the Epiphany team is waiting for Firefox to implement this resume-download-after-restart functionality. Because it would probably take a long time before Firefox is going to have this (in version 2.0 they say?) why not "fix" this with a dialog with a warning that the download will be lost for the moment? It's probably better to give a warning to the user instead of just let the download get lost, eh?
The warning is implemented in cvs.
