Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, that stack trace is not very useful in determining the cause of the crash. Can you get us one with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so.

Already some duplicates. This seems to happen when initiating VPN connections or using rppoe. Unfortunately, any stack trace is not very useful in determining the cause of the crash. Can you get us one with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so.
Is this wat you wanted? Backtrace was generated from '/opt/gnome/bin/netapplet' Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1". `system-supplied DSO at 0xffffe000' has disappeared; keeping its symbols. I also found these error messages in the terminal window from which I restart netapplet: (netapplet:10165): netapplet-WARNING **: icon_name=stock_unknown netapplet-ERROR **: file netapplet.c: line 168 (netapplet_set_icon): should not be reached aborting...
Excellent, confirming so developers will take a look.
Gert, the last trace is from a different crash. I have openened a new report about this - Bug 326012

Unfortunately, no stack trace is very useful in determining the cause of the crash. Can you get us one with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. the crash happens in libegg -reassigning
From : pickles@iainc: > gdb /opt/gnome/bin/netapplet 11021 (gdb) thread apply all bt

I also get the following error from the konsole: (netapplet:11021): netapplet-WARNING **: icon_name=stock_unknown netapplet-ERROR **: file netapplet.c: line 168 (netapplet_set_icon): should not be reached aborting...
I am afraid, this is libegg *without* debugging symbols.
