GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 314997
Editing addresses in the composer is buggy
Last modified: 2013-09-13 00:54:24 UTC
Version details: approximately 2.4.0 branchpoint cvs If you type in an email address, one that isn't in your addressbook, then type comma, then another address, then comma, then start typing another. If you delete the address character by character, when it hits the comma it then selects the entire address - one keystroke terminates its existance, but leaves the comma there. another delete keystroke then highlights the first address, and 1 delete keystroke then deletes the whole thing. You're left with 2 commas with no addresses. it should behave like a simple text entry box, delete shouldn't delete the whole thing.
confirming this. imo, it's nice to be able to delete an entire address at once (marking still works so i think it's pretty good), but the comma remains, as micahel already said.
Fix committed to cvs head and gnome-2-12 branch.
reopening the bug. still happens in evolution-2.4.1.0.200510061830-0.snap.novell.0.1 when using backspace to delete the mail addresses. Now the whole email address along with the comma is getting selected when pressing the backspace.
that is the fix for the bug, we are giving the capability to the user to delete the entire address at once (comment #1). The only problem was that the comma was not getting removed with the address. So marking this as closed.
Verified with Evolution 2.4.1 and its working fine
