Description Vincent Noel 2005-07-25 16:19:33 UTC
When you attach something to an email in evolution, the attachment area has a
title "Attachment Bar". This was useful previously, when you could hide/show the
attachment area by clicking on an expander. Now that the expander is gone, the
label is useless, especially when considering that the number of files attached
is detailed at the far right :

"Attachment Bar [...] 2 Attachments".

Vincent: I don't see this with Evolution 2.3.5 build dated 22-July-2005 on SuSE
9.3 platform. Can you please provide a screenshot ?

Vincent: Ya got it. Actually, I was checking the composer window. Confirming the
bug.

Oops, I messed up... :-)
Actually you were right, I was talking about the composer window too.

See the screenshot : You have a label "Attachment Bar" on the left and "1
attachment" on the right. It's not useful to specify "Attachment Bar", so we
should just remove it.

Lemme answer one by one.

In the place of Reading Mails.
You are right. I can totally hide it. I didnt feel it, while implementing it.
Gr8. But unfortunately we are in UI Freeze. Ill take it up for next release.

In the composer, it is reqd to tell the number of attachments. Im also looking
for showing the total size of the attachments etc. So itz reqd.

Hope you got the idea.

Well, yeah, it is required. But right now there are TWO labels :
Attachment bar [...] 1 attachment

There is no need to duplicate the information. The "1 attachment" label is fine.
The "Attachment bar" label is not required.

*** Bug 312032 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 9 Karsten Bräckelmann 2006-01-16 15:07:16 UTC
The Attachment Bar will be similar to the one in 2.2 again. Expander added, default to not expanded with the additional bonus of auto-expanding on adding new attachments.

See bug 323127. Fix already committed to CVS.

Now the "Attachment Bar" label serves a purpose again. :) Obsolete.
