The already reported bug #166976 still have problems in the version 2.2.6. When 
the image is not maid in Gimp, it doesn't open well all layers. I send you and 
image that shows that problem, the same file is open with other program 
(Irfanview) and in Gimp and you can see the diference.

The attachement in comment #1 is a screenshot.  You are presumably going to
attach a copy of the image that you have trouble with?

Guessing from the image, it might be caused by layer effects.

IMO the missing parts are layer effects, so this report is a duplicate (and
testcase) of bug 79025.
