Clearing the search parameters causes a redraw of the contacts list
(View->Current View->Phone Lit). After the redraw, the previously selected
contact is being unselected, and the contact details not displayed any longer.

I'd expect the clear button to leave my selection alone.

Earlier it might have been possible to fix this.
But after providing a fix for http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=269655 this is not possible.
We have to set "displayed contact" variable to NULL, to provide a fix for the above bug, so now there is no way to remember the selection.
