GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 270021
'Copy Link Location' copies image link, not URL of destination
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:04:09 UTC
I tried this to the right place. I got an email message that had a gif image that loaded from the internet correctly. When you click on the image or did a mouse over the image it correctly identified that it was a href tag and would take you to a web page on the Internet. However if you right mouse click and select "Copy Link Location" it copied the link of the gif image itself, and not the href site. The same link seen on the mouse-over should go into the copy buffer when this option is selected.
I don't see copy link location in my evo with images inside <A> tag. Please attach the message causing that.
retargetting from 2.1 to 2.5 to get rid of that ancient milestones.
Partha: AFAIT, this context menu is via the shell. Could you please confirm ?
kaushal, no shell picture there. Its just gtkhtml and mailer. Shell has no role to play there IIRC. in em-folder-view.c is the place where it has the link code and gtkhtml passes the on_url signal and data.
Yes, I could not be sure since I have not worked in shell or mailer. moving it to mailer for further investigation. the context menu needs to take care of copying the actual link instead of the image location.
Re-open.

Seems to work ok here (evo-2.10) would somebody confirm ?
Works for me on 2.12 too, so closing. Feel free to reopen if you find something wrong. (btw, closing as fixed because it was fixed, even don't know when exactly). :)
