GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 262002
Implement family mapping
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:04:27 UTC
There is already the Spouse field. It would be neat if there could be Family info too. I.e. parents and children, maybe siblings too. Yet this would require only a field which points to each parent. They don't even have to exist in the database, it could be a ghost id. This would be to allow lookup of siblings - to look for a person A's siblings, just look for other id's that have one or more identical parent-id as A has. To look for children of person A, look for id's that have A's id in their parent tags. It could be a useful feature in the client, to be able to quickly reach a relative of a person. Or just to see the family tree.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-data-server/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
