GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 261457
iso-8859* encoding problem of name in contact List
Last modified: 2013-09-10 13:55:43 UTC
the name of personn with accent is not well encoded in contact list, while there is not problem in the contact information Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a contact with accent on his name 2. Verify there is no problem in the name in the contact preview pane. 3. Create a contact list 4. Add the contact to the list and some other contacts 5. look in the preview pane the list of contact: the name of the contact in the preview pane is not right encoded ( for me it is "Isabelle =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Gu=E9rin?=" instead of "Isabelle Guérin")

Isnt this a DUP of Bug 359806 – Non-ascii characters generate trash in address lists (EDS) Bug 324604 – Non-ascii characters generate trash in address lists (Evo) Actually, the complete solution requires two patches... hence two bugs :) Regards, Makuchaku
Andre, how do we close a bug which is a DUP of two?
makuchaku, we choose the one that we like most, and give candy and sweets to the other one to console it... dumdidum... :-) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 324604 ***
