Description Clemens Wacha 2004-02-04 12:20:49 UTC
Description of Problem:
VCards and iCalenders can have umlauts (as in german ae=ä,oe=ö,ue=ü). The
evolution importer however does not properly import umlauts. A word like
"H[oe]henweg" (with the umlaut in []) will be imported as "H"

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Import- a VCard or iCalender-file with umlauts

Actual Results:
H

Expected Results:
H[oe]henweg or Höhenweg

How often does this happen?
always

Additional Information:
Entering Umlauts directly in Calender or Contacts works well. Exporting
those to VCards or Icalenders has not been tested.

This misfeature barely renders evolution unusable for people using
ISO8859-1 character set.

related to bug 240931 (perhaps even the same?)
