Calendar view doesn't show after upgrading to 1.4
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:03:17 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: When starting Evolution after upgrading from 1.2.x, either Tasks view or month view are maximized. Calendar view is under those panels. As matter of fact, it looks like tasks component is active, not calendar. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Upgrade 2. Can't initially access calendar 3. Actual Results: Apparent Tasks view Expected Results: Calendar view. How often does this happen? Always Additional Information: This is a known problem being worked and to be fixed as soon as possible. As a workaround: 1. Please resize panel (eihter calendar or tasks) left. Panel handles are not as visible as they should, but with some effort you'l find it. Also mouse pointer changes to horizontal two-head arrow. 2. If tasks component was maximized, please resize panel down in order to show "minicalendar" view, in this case mouse pointer changes to a vertical two-head arrow. 3. If month view calendar was maximized, then please resize panel up in order to show tasks view, as in previous case, mouse pointer will show as a vertical two-head arrow. Your configuration will be saved from this point and on

If i adjust the borders to view the calendar view, then the task view isn't visible. I can't view a month view, or week view, or day view -only year. And the shortcut icons on the left hand side don't work.

For me, the "resizing" trick did not work. I had to use gconf-editor to convert /apps/evolution/calendar/display/{*_position} to "int" (were "float", caused some assertion failures to be printed), and to assign semi-random small values until the "day view" would show up again. Hope this helps Jan

This very likely will be an issue when migrating from 1.2 to 2.0 as well. Given the large number of duplicates and the questions on the mailing lists regarding this bug, it should definitively be fixed. Large user pools don't upgrade to every version and this likely will cause trouble again. Only security fixes will go in to 1.4.x at this point. Rescheduling to 1.5.5.
Hans: is this possible with 1.5 display if someone migrates from 1.2->1.5?
I've fixed this int vs float problem in 1.5.
