GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 235874
Evolution should prompt before quitting
Last modified: 2006-03-30 15:03:56 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Wishlist Version: 1.2 Synopsis: Evolution should prompt before quitting Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Miscellaneous Description: Description of Problem: It is too easy to shut down evolution accidentally by hitting ctrl-w or ctrl-q. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. hit ctrl-w while in the main window 2. 3. Actual Results: Application shuts down Expected Results: Since evolution really expects to be running all the time to handle such things as calndar events, it would be nice if it prompted the user before shutting down on one of these key strokes. How often does this happen? With my background with emacs, way too often. ctrl-w is cut. Additional Information: Generally I don't like extra confirmation boxes, but shutting down an application that is intended to run forever is one of those exceptions where it seems to make sense.
