Description Dan Winship 2002-07-17 13:57:43 UTC
Outlook lets you configure two timezones, the one where you really
are, and another one of your choice. You can have two time scale
widgets down the left side of the day view, so you can quickly determine
what time a meeting is at in both zones. That's kinda cool.

see also bug#205804 for a variant on this with tooltips.
that feature as described would also work nicely as well. in fact, it
could work better since you could then potentially view more than one
additional timezone.

another nice to have from the outlook featurelist is the ability to
"swap timezones" on the fly. but then, that would probably require
root access, and actually the gnome tool for that isn't too bad
(though it doesn't seem to update right away).

from my personal work requirements, needing to be able to see one
additional timezone would be a huge help. being able to see two
additional zones a nice to have, and being able to see 3-4 additional
would be an occaisional help for planning globe spanning meeting.

the #5804 bug is actually pretty old. it got moved to "future" before
the 1.0 release. how many dead and forgotten bugs are like that?

many. ;-)
bug 331375 is a bit similar to this here.

I'm marking this one as a duplicate of the newer one, because it contains a patch (pity I didn't find this when creating the newer bug).
