GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 212084
calendar should indicate when there is an event scrolled out of view
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:36:56 UTC
It would be nice if the day view of the calendar would put some sort of icon or something at the top or bottom of the view to let you know there's an event there you have to scroll to see
Yes, like the little arrows that Outlook shows.
This is still not in evolution as of 1.5.93. Would be nice to add this for at least 2.2 - or even 2.0 if that's possible.

Bug 567843 might be a duplicate, technically speaking.

copying description of the dupe: When only some part of the day fits to screen, there is no visual indication of events that are hidden. Suppose you can directly see only 9:00 - 16:00 and you have event at 8:00 and 18:00, I'd like to see something like this in that case: | [^ more events] 9 00 | <snip> 16 00 | [16:15 event] 30 | 17 00 | | [v more events] Two notes to this proposal: 1. I guess that if there are no events at the very top and very bottom rows, placeholders could be displayed at them in order to save screen real estate. 2. if the event(s) description(s) fit into the row, they could be displayed right away (sorted by time) instead of placeholder.
Other random thoughts: * the "more events" indicator should probably specify how many more events (e.g. "^ 3 more events") * the indicator could have a tooltip that summarized the off-screen events * clicking the indicator could scroll the view such that (at least) the first off-screen event becomes visible.
Week view and month view have a small "..." icon.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
